Diodes for 3D Printing

3

Additive manufacturing, or as its more commonly referred - 3D printing, has revolutionized manufacturing processes over the past ten years.  There is a wide range of different 3D printing methodologies used today, but in this blog post, we will primarily focus on photochemical curing including how diode lasers are utilized in the process. Wavelength Stabilized Fiber Coupled Laser Diodes

K793D02RN-4.000W-6

These High Power Fiber-Coupled Diode Lasers are manufactured by adopting specialized fiber-coupling techniques, resulting in volume products with a high efficiency, stability, and superior beam quality. The products are achieved by transforming the asymmetric radiation from the laser diode chip into an output fiber with small core diameter by using special micro-optics. Inspection and burn-in procedures in each step of production help to guarantee each product with high reliability, stability and long lifetime.

These narrow linewidth laser diodes are available at a variety of wavelengths and output powers. The laser power from these fiber-coupled modules is delivered via a non-detachable fiber core which is terminated with a standard SMA-905 fiber connector.

Multi-Emitter Fiber Coupled Laser Diodes

Trio-Package-600x418

By combining the emission of multiple individual laser diodes in a common beam or optical fiber, These modules have achieved performance superior to that of laser bars. Each laser diode in the module operates independently and is not affected by the thermal crosstalk from the neighboring emitters. Our line of diode laser modules is the most comprehensive in the industry. We offer fiber-coupled and free-space laser diode modules with optical output power from 2W up to 1kW. Operating wavelengths range from 375nm to 12 microns. The module footprint fits standard high-power thermoelectric coolers making system integration easy. With the optional blast shield, fiber interlock, and the choice of a red, blue or green aiming beam, the module also meets stringent industrial requirements.
