It’s that time again! We’re headed west for Photonics West and BiOS, the world’s largest annual event for the photonics, laser, and biomedical optics industries.
We continue to push the envelope with product and manufacturing capabilities and this year we’ll be showing:

The new Chiron 3 BBO Pockel cell for laser material processing
A new DFB laser for the next generation sensing applications.

G&H Chiron 3 BBO Pockel cell — Chiron 3 BBO Pockel cell

In the meantime, read below about the latest innovations from G&H:
New product: Chiron 3 BBO Pockel cell for micro-machining, marking, drilling, and cutting laser systems.
Our new Pockel is designed for use with regenerative amplifiers in for mode locking/pulse picking applications with ultrafast lasers. The Chiron 3 meets or exceeds the performance of other BBO Pockels cells with respect to extended exposure and at high repetition rate while maintaining a high contrast ratio. It can withstand temperature extremes without suffering permanent damage. Read the datasheet here.

G&H AC1409 Single-mode Pump Laser — G&H DFB Laser

New product: new series of high power DFB lasers
G&H introduces a new range of 40, 50, 80, and 100 mW high power DFB lasers with extremely narrow spectral width required for precise fiber optic communication and sensing applications. Compared to the previous version the new product line has a greater number of wavelength/frequency/channel options over the 1528-1617 nm spectrum and features a high efficiency cooler for low current, low power consumption operation over wide temperature ranges. A High PER option with 20 dB performance is also available. Preliminary datasheet here.
OCT modules, sub-systems, and components
We have taken steps to address the demand for high quality OCT modules, sub-systems, and components, by bringing new products to market and now employ even higher testing standards.
The new generation of OCT photonics products is fully tested for optical, mechanical and environmental performance across range of critical parameters i.e. temperature, humidity, shock and vibration. Appropriate test criteria were selected according to market requirements and elements of the ISO_9022-2 standard

G&H Small Form Factor Delay Line — Small Form Factor Delay Line

G&H were pioneers with some of the earliest optical delay lines to market and we continue to lead in this area. Our new Small Form Factor Optical Delay Line (SFF-ODL) is customizable and can adopt different wavelengths (850 nm, 1060 nm, 1310 nm), single or dual fibre architecture, and can even include variable attenuator or Faraday rotator to meet your very specific requirements
The ultra-wideband OCT coupler (UWOC) is a game-changer in ultra-high resolution OCT imaging. With unprecedented flatness over 300 nm bandwidth and customizable coupling ratio, based on our proprietary technology, the UWOC sets new standards for wideband fused couplers. While enabling micron resolution OCT imaging at 850 nm central wavelength, variants at 1060 nm, 1310 nm and 1550 nm are also available. Anticipating future market requirements and development of polarization-sensitive OCT our engineers developed both SM and PM variants of the UWOC coupler. Preliminary datasheet here.

SPECTOR® ion beam sputtering (IBS) optical coating system from Veeco — Veeco IBS coating chamber

IBS coatings for high-quality optics for ultraviolet, visible and infrared applications. Our ability to meet demanding and complex specifications was boosted in the fall of 2018 with the introduction of a new ion-beam coating chamber to the G&H, Moorpark facility. Our superpolished IBS coated optics achieve very low levels of total loss while maintaining surface roughness quality, density and exceptional environmental stability. Read more here.
Shortwave Infrared (SWIR) lens modules for defense, security and industrial machine vision applications.
If you want to see what live high resolution SWIR imaging looks like come to see a demonstration on our booth. We’ll two lenses linked to a SWIR camera and TV monitor:

The FireAnt™ 25-250 mm F/2 SWIR with a motorized focus, zoom and iris controls.
The Avill™5 mm VIS-SWIR lens. The lens is compact and lightweight and notable for its very low distortion while providing a wide angle FOV. The Avill™ lens is available in standard housing or in an OEM version, specifically designed for ease of integration into third party systems.

From Vitl the own brand of G&H company medical device manufacturer ITL Medical, we’ll have the Lu-mini, a robust, single-tube, benchtop luminometer which can be used for a wide variety of assays including, luciferase assays, ATP assays, cell-based assays for drug discovery and many more.
