It's a brand new decade and Vescent is excited to help it start right for you. We're looking to a very busy 2020 with many new products which will broaden our ability to provide the highest performance in precision photonics to the AMO, quantum sensing, and time & frequency communities.

We are starting out the new year by attending the Precise Time and Time Interval Meeting in San Diego. If you are also attending, we welcome you to the conference and invite you to visit us at Booth 1 in the Exhibition Hall.

We are also very excited to announce the return of two of our founders. Scott Davis is our new CEO and is leading us into a very exciting expansion phase. When asked about taking the reins, he replied, "As one of the original founders of the company, and owner of the first 'garage-lab' where Vescent started, I could not be more thrilled to be the new CEO.  It is exciting times at Vescent, from new fiber-laser products, to components enabling the transition of quantum from the lab to the field, to a new line of laboratory electronics, we are accelerating our technical and market growth."

Scott Rommel is also returning to Vescent as Chief Operations Officer, "My role is to increase the efficiency of Vescent through improved processes, nurturing our relationships with key vendors, and keeping up with the growth that we are planning for 2020 and beyond.  We're looking forward to lots of hard work as we grow rapidly."

Vescent now offers Mode-Locked Lasers

MLO-100
 Femtosecond laser system

High-bandwidth control of cavity length allows for ƒopt locking

MLO-100

VESCENT IS PROUD TO OFFER a new line of mode-locked lasers. The MLO-100 provides sub-100 fs pulses at 100 or 200 MHz. Control inputs for the pump laser power and cavity length make it possible to lock ƒopt and ƒCEO to put the laser on the path for true frequency comb performance.

Our unique design allows over 40 kHz variation in the repetition rate and combined with our factory capability to set the cavity length precisely, we can match repetition rates of multiple units.

phase noise of Menhir-1550 laser

Ultra-low phase noise of the Menhir-1550  for stable rf generation

VESCENT IS THE EXCLUSIVE US and Canadian distributor for Menhir Photonics.  The Menhir-1550 is a gigahertz repetition rate mode-locked.

This industrial grade laser features a hermetically sealed housing for true field deployment and sub-200 fs pulses with repetition rates up to 2.5 GHz. Extremely low open-loop phase noise makes it an excellent choice for timing distribution and stable rf and microwave generation.

FO-100 Mode-locked oscillator

FO-100 temperature-tuned repetition rate

>40 kHz of repetition rate tuning via the temperature

THE FO-100 MODE-LOCKED OSCILLATOR is the heart of the MLO-100 system. Our build process and high-bandwidth cavity-length control allow for repetition rate matching and stabilization as well as ƒopt locking. The stable performance and self-mode-locking makes it an excellent starting point for those who want to build their own customized system.

LOW-NOISE ECONOMICAL CURRENT CONTROL is now available from the SLICE-DCC, a dual-channel Current Controller.  The SLICE-DCC offers high modulation bandwidth as well as compliance voltages up to 12 V for driving conventional diodes, QCLs, ICLs, and GaN devices. With up to 2 A capacity, the SLICE-DCC will drive tapered & semiconductor optical amplifiers as well.

GUI control over SLICE-DHV

High-bandwidth control around a 0-200 V nominal set point

SLICE-DHV

HIGH-VOLTAGE AMPLIFICATION reaches new performance levels with the SLICE-DHV which offers two independent channels, each with >200 kHz control bandwidth on signals up to 200 V with less than 150 µV rms noise. This performance makes it ideal for grating tuning of ECDLs.  But it also was designed for cavity stretching schemes for repetition-rate control of frequency combs and mode-locked lasers.

SLICE-QTC

New Application Note: Large Thermal Plant Stabilization

SUB-MILLIKELVIN TEMPERATURE STABILITY is possible with the new SLICE-QTC Temperature Controller. Photonics Integrated Circuits (PICs), laser gain media, thermally tuned lasers, non-linear crystals, optical cavities, interferometers, and other crucial components can all be reliably stabilized with newly improved set point resolution of <0.2 mK. When temperature stability keeps you locked on to your signal, the SLICE-QTC will deliver the performance you need.
