The 2nd North American Conference on Trapped Ions (NACTI) is happening this week at the University of Maryland at College Park. At the conference, the ion community will be discussing the most recent work in quantum computing & simulation, frequency standards & time-keeping, precision measurements, and ion trapping & chemistry.  It promises to be an exciting week.

At NACTI, Vescent Photonics will be introducing our new SLICE products - a multi-faceted line of control electronics. We will also be showing the Menhir Mode-Locked Laser and our D2 line of electro-optics, lasers, and control electronics. We invite you to visit our booth and catch the excitement.

 


 



Mode-Locked Oscillators

 

VESCENT IS PARTNERING with Menhir Photonics to bring a new level of pulsed laser performance to the US market. The Menhir-1550 is an incredibly stable mode-locked oscillator which produces clean sub-200 fs pulses centered at 1560 nm. It features very low phase noise (less than -140 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz) and can be configured to operate at a number of repetition rates ranging from 250 MHz all the way to 2.5 GHz. The Menhir-1560 offers >100 mW of transform-limited pulses in a robust, hermetically sealed housing that can't be beat. Really, it can't be beat: check out the movie below!

 

The Menhir-1550 will be your engine for timing distribution, frequency combs, and low-noise rf and microwave signal generation in a robust, fieldable package.

INTRODUCING SLICE!



LOW-NOISE ECONOMICAL CURRENT CONTROL is now available from the SLICE-DCC, a dual-channel Current Controller.  The SLICE-DCC offers high modulation bandwidth as well as compliance voltages up to 12 V for driving conventional diodes, QCLs, ICLs, and GaN devices. With up to 2 A capacity, the SLICE-DCC will drive tapered & semiconductor optical amplifiers as well.

HIGH-VOLTAGE AMPLIFICATION reaches new performance levels with the SLICE-DHV which uniquely offers >200 kHz control bandwidth on signals up to 200 V with less than 150 µV rms noise. This performance makes it ideal for grating tuning of ECDLs, cavity stretching schemes such as for repetition-rate control of frequency combs, and controlling EOMs.

SUB-MILLIKELVIN TEMPERATURE STABILITY is possible with the new SLICE-QTC Temperature Controller. Photonics Integrated Circuits (PICs), laser gain media, thermally tuned lasers, non-linear crystals, optical cavities, interferometers, and other crucial components can all be reliably stabilized with set point resolution of <2 mK. When temperature stability keeps you locked on to your signal, the SLICE-QTC will deliver the performance you need.
