Neutral Density Filters

Neutral Density (ND) filters are designed to reduce transmission evenly across a portion of a specific spectrum. Andover Corporation offers a selection of outstanding ND filters that are ideal for a wide range of applications.

Choose between circular filters or square filters.

Custom sizes and requirements are available upon request.

Absorptive

Andover's standard absorbing ND filters are distinguished by their anti-reflective coating, which reduces surface reflections. With their ability to minimize back reflections and scattered light, absorptive neutral density filters are perfect for imaging applications and ideal for calibration, machine vision, photomicrography, scientific measurements, and research.

Metallic UV-VIS-NIR & VIS-NIR

Metallic neutral density filters obtain their optical density by depositing a metal alloy coating onto a specific type of substrate, which is determined by the wavelength region of interest. Suitable for low-power lasers, attenuation, imaging, and calibration.

Infrared Neutral Density Filters

Metallic-coated infrared neutral density filters (IR ND filters) obtain their optical density from a metal alloy coating on a substrate determined by the wavelength region of interest. Andover's IRND filters exhibit outstanding spectral neutrality, outperforming all others on the market.

We also have a new variant available for select densities which includes a broadband anti-reflective coating on one side. This is useful in imaging systems where multiple reflections from the coated surfaces could be a concern. Look for BBAR in the part number.
